Michael Irvin HOF Induction Party
For the second party I decorated and organized for a Dallas Cowboys alumnus, I flew to Texas Stadium to meet with his people who were planning the event. There I was told that Troy Aikman himself had brought the photo album I had sent to him and his wife, to them, saying how much they enjoyed working with me, and that I was the one they should hire for the job! What a great compliment!
Being that this event required flipping a 30,000 sq.ft. tent from an informal barbeque to an elegant event for a Hall of Famer within a matter of four hours, several months of planning everything down to the tiniest detail had to be done. We had to coordinate 93 employees, 13 different vendors, from lighting to rentals, and 21 trucks full of decor, including leather furniture from Chicago and lighted tables and furniture from NYC, into a well-orchestrated team that could accomplish this huge task within the given time restraints. Everything, including draping every wall of the tent, placing every floral piece, building a Green Room for the Pointer Sisters, and even clean-up were all accomplished by the time the first guests walked in! One side of the tent was used for dining, and the other, for lounging and dancing, divided by a shimmering curtain guests could walk through to change sides.
